Allison + Joey Couples Session

My first couples session in THREE YEARS!

Most of you may know that in late 2023, I relocated to DeKalb, Illinois from Las Vegas, NV. In Las Vegas I had the pleasure of photographing a few engagements, weddings, and anniversaries for the most amazing couples. Since I’ve relocated to the Midwest, I’ve had endless sessions for high school seniors and college grads, commercial shoots in hospitality and food, and hours spent on the field for NIU Athletics…and zero couples. But that’s okay!

I don’t advertise myself as a couples photographer, as most couples seek wedding photographers for engagements and weddings - duh! However, when I do get the occasional set of lovebirds, it fills me with so much joy! I am so glad I got to practice some new posing and angles with these two - their comfort in front of the camera made it a breeze!

Allison and Joey answered my Model Call on Instagram to get the 2026 season rolling; this was actually my first photo session of the year! I found some super-cute denim-on-denim inspo on Pinterest, and these 2 totally dressed the part.

We spent the late afternoon at Sycamore Forest Preserve, and both of them were troopers with the chilly air. This is one of my favorite spots for portrait sessions, and it was neat to see what it looks like in the early spring.

These two did lots of running, hugging, and swaying for me! I’m so happy with how these photos turned out and so thankful for Allison and Joey’s participation.
